Virgo Perfecto
What can Virgo do after ‘the glory of Leo’? Strive for perfection, that’s what. There is inherent in this Mutable Earth sign the desire and willingness to dedicate themselves to each task, no matter how humble, in order to arrive at a stage of self-mastery through disciplined hard work. This necessitates questioning all that the ego has previously created or displayed through a process of introspection and critical analysis. Anyone born between approximately August 22nd and September 22nd, or displaying Virgo Rising, or having any of the authority planets, Sun, Saturn, or Pluto, in the 6th house is going to display Virgoan traits strongly.
THE SYMBOL
The Virgin with the Unicorn represents symbolically the journey of Virgo. One of our sons, Benjamin, who illustrates many of my major in-depth articles, is also a very fine astrologer in his own right. I would like to share a portion of his description of this image:
“It should be clear that the mythical unicorn does not actually exist, and thus it represents perfection, which is what Virgo seeks to achieve, and which consequentially is unattainable. The only living human to which the unicorn will come is the virginal maiden, who waits quietly in the glen with perhaps a bowl of water from which the Unicorn is invited to drink. To achieve perfection then, the servant that is Virgo must tend to the details and be patient. There is no guarantee that the unicorn will come, only that we must be ready if and when it does come. The Virgo compulsion to clean, organize, nurse, and serve, all follows in the wake of this theory…if we only work hard enough, magic will happen…
There exists in this story a bit of tragic futility as well, which is also appropriate for Virgo; for if the Unicorn does come, it will be killed, and its horn will be removed by the hunters who lie waiting in the shadows of the forest. At its default level, Virgo will despair into an ever spiraling analysis consisting of endless criticism. Nothing will ever be good enough, pure enough, or in fact, Perfect. However, if taken to a noble and selfless level, Virgo refines and serves despite the futility. Yes, the plant may indeed whither and die, but that will not stop one from watering it today. Indeed the maiden may be wise enough not to slip into the awe of the Unicorn (delusions of perfection), she may be able to perceive the magic of the creature for what it is, to alert the beast and thus spare it from the sharp spears of the hunters. In this stance, Virgo strives for her ideals, but does not crucify herself with the inevitable realization that perfection is not obtainable. Indeed, it only spurs her to work harder.”
– Benjamin Vierling
MYTHS AND LEGENDS
No other sign has quite as many mythical stories connected with it as Virgo. Many of these myths derive from the Great Earth Goddess stories that have evolved and mutated through thousands of years. There is Demeter or Ceres and her daughter Persephone or Kore who is abducted into the underworld, there is Isis and Osiris and his death and dismemberment by the evil Seth, however Horus is born magically with the help of the guiding Thoth. Let us not neglect the Virgin Mary who conceives the immaculate Christ-child. All of these myths concern the transformation of the personality from a child-like or virginal/innocent state into the wiser and more mature individual represented by the fruition of the harvest. In Virgo we reach a state of crisis where there must be a total reorientation from the personal to the more collective and universal. To obtain this goal the personality must generally purify itself of ego self-centeredness by performing some type of service to others.
Other mythical personages associated with Virgo have been Artemis, the protectress of childbirth, small animals, and a lover of nature; Chiron, the sacred wounded healer and teacher of heroes; Hestia or Vesta, Goddess of the Hearth; and even Dike or Astraea who lived during the initial ‘Golden Age’ when there was no disease, violence or unhappiness, but suffered from the subsequent degeneration of humanity only to finally withdraw far away from it all.
I invite you to view if you haven’t already, the movie Legend. This is a modern-day revival of the Maiden and the Unicorn myth. Not only is this movie visually stunning, but it portrays the dilemma of Virgo quite dramatically, which is that there can truly be no innocence by the end of the journey through this sign. To purify the excesses of the ego one must face the shadow and confront all that is hidden in darkness. Virgo must take this journey in its quest for wholeness, both in itself, and by serving others who have suffered mind/body splits or imbalances.
VIRGO GLYPH
This glyph comes from the Near East and the Semitic languages. The Hebrew letter mem stands for the Virgin, while the curving tail represents the Fish of the Piscean mystical polarity.
STAR CONSTELLATION
The Babylonians named Virgos constellation Absin, which meant the corn-ear of the goddess Shala. This is the second largest constellation in our galaxy and it includes 58 visible stars. The best known of these stars is Spica (the ear of the corn). It is the 16th brightest star in the sky. Astronomer/astrologers of medieval times stated that if this star was rising or culminating overhead at someones birth, then good fortune, riches, happiness, ecclesiastical preferment, and possibly unexpected honor or advancement would be given.
Another star, Vindemiarux, known as the ‘Gatherer of the Grapes’ connects the mythical Bacchus with each years grape harvest. Virgo also contains an enormous galaxy cluster, which includes approximately 2500 individual galaxies including M87, which looks like a giant sparkler emitting jets of material 5,000 light years into space.
QUALITIES AND CHARACTERISTICS
Is it any wonder that Virgo is considered a highly complex sign? My files are filled with Virgos. Yes, they do like to use astrology as one of their useful tools! These people are all uniquely qualified in their chosen fields of endeavor with an above-average amount of education under their belts. They are an intelligent lot. The planet Mercury rules this sign as well as Gemini, but in Virgo we see more of the alchemical Hermes working as Psychopompous (Guide to Hades), or Trismegisthus/Thoth, the thrice born of Egyptian fame. Thoth was the wise sage/initiator who guided Isis in her tasks of finding Osiris, conceiving Horus from his deceased body, and ultimately remembering him back to a state of wholeness. Thoth as an introspective guide helps the Virgoan to deconstruct anything into its component parts in order to repair, rejuvenate, and regenerate it back into greater wholeness. The Medieval alchemists saw Mercurius as androgynous and symbolic of the inner vital spirit of the earth. Mercury was the agent which could transmute earthly physical reality into something greater than itself. No wonder so many Virgos enter the healing arts. They are so technically adept and precise in their diagnostic methods and in their therapeutic abilities.
Virgos can also excel in business, but especially businesses that are either technically or service-oriented. Virgos migrate towards earth-related products such as forestry, landscaping, organic farming, food industries, health-care products, etc. With the rapid proliferation of the computer-related industries many Virgos have become engineers and technicians. In fact, the conjunction of Uranus and Pluto in Virgo heralded this revolution in the mid-60s and many of the children born of that era are now the ‘techies’ speeding us into the digital future.
In the arts Virgos are known for their precision and detail, as well as their ability to often perfect an ancient technique that others may consider archaic such as egg tempera oil painting, fine-loom weaving, stone and marble sculpting, wood-cut printing, etc.
Probably one of the great keys to Virgos contentment and satisfaction is meaningful work and service. No matter how humble or routine, if their work provides them with structure, stability, and some measure of intrinsic reward, they will spend long hours at their tasks without seeking the fame and glory that some of their more flamboyant kin desire. Virgos are much more hermit-like than their Mercury-ruled Gemini cousins. Often high-strung, they avoid chaotic situations preferring quiet and privacy within their daily work routine. They like to focus on one project at a time and enjoy the continuity of mastering their craft step by step.
Virgos are learning to discriminate in their journey towards wholeness. This harvest time of the year implies separating the wheat from the chaff and Virgos must do this in their daily lives to sort out what is important and what is not, what is meaningful versus beside the point, what satisfies and what leaves one feeling empty. The small intestines are ‘ruled’ by Virgo. The body function of separating out what is of value nutritionally and what isn’t takes place in this organ. The body itself is such a marvel of mirroring the significance of the 12 zodiacal signs. I have a book which shows this graphically with an image of the head touched by the feet in a circular loop. Each part of the body is represented by its corresponding sign starting with Aries, the head, and ending with Pisces, the feet. Virgo leads us down towards the pelvic region of Scorpio, but in Virgo assimilation of nutrients takes place simultaneously with the discarding of anything which cannot be used by the organism. No wonder Virgo must analyze and discriminate with such exacting precision.
SHADOW
The shadow of Virgo stems from taking its natural tendencies to an extreme. As Benjamin Vierling states, “At its lowest, Virgo over analyzes irrelevant details that hinder the continuity of the big picture. Self-criticism can become self-loathing if one incessantly worries about mundane character flaws.”
The absolute extreme of this is sado-masochism where the sense of imperfection, as measured by some impossibly high perfect standard, reaches the self-destructive level of such guilt that one must be punished incessantly to be purified of ones flaws. This is the masochist. At the opposite extreme is the absolute rage, stemming from the same level of guilt, which pushes one to punish savagely that which represents ones weakness. This is the sadist. I was reminded of this on a trip to some of the Medieval churches and monasteries in the cliff towns of France where you could see the hundreds of stone steps which the ‘penitents’ had climbed on raw and bleeding knees with the hopes of having their sins absolved.
The healing of such a shadow starts with learning tolerance, first for ones own human self, and then for others who are like-wise still learning and evolving, each at their own rate.
RELATIONSHIPS
Virgo is fairly choosy and careful when it comes to relationship. Their natural initial reserve, or even hermit-like quality, can be misinterpreted as cool or even aloof. Some will carefully weigh up your assets and liabilities before making a commitment because their emotional considerations are often matched with the practical. That being said, however, I must make a huge plug for the ladies of the sign. Having served as confidant to so very many of these earthy women I must contend that they are often very highly sexual and sensual, and probably make fantastic lovers! As to their Virgo brothers, I can not judge based on the rather discreet disclosures I have been privy to.
Most Virgo men, however, seem to want and need partnership. They will often devote themselves tirelessly to their families as excellent providers. The women? So many truly enjoy their autonomy yet want the lover/companion. They don’t seem as keen to be ‘the wife’, however once they find the right partner they can be just as devoted and caring as their more watery sisters.
FAMOUS VIRGOS
Queen Elizabeth I, the ‘Virgin Queen’ was a Virgo, born September 7, 1533. Much has been written and conjectured about her romantic life. As a true Virgo, however, she devoted herself to her role as Queen and took her job seriously.
Michael Jackson is another famous modern-day Virgo. We can see the mythical aspects of the sign play out in his life, and we know, all too well, how hard he has tried to hold on to a state of innocent/perfection even as the underworld has compelled him to face the shadow. They even call him the ‘child-man’ in spite of his soaring big sellers, Thriller, Bad, and Dangerous. Hmmm…
The famous Virgo that intrigues me the most is Greta Garbo. She rose to extreme fame in the 1920s and 1930s in such elegant and stylish roles as Anna Christie, Camille, and the Russian ballerina in Grand Hotel. Her acting style was superb. If you watch her carefully she uses her face and eyes to impart every subtle feeling and nuance of mood. You sense she was a perfectionist with her craft.
Yet she abandoned the world of spot-lights for her own quiet and sustained existence well into her 80s. It’s as if she quit when the work was no longer rewarding after World War II. She just wasn’t interested enough in the fame and glory to lower her standards into becoming ‘a sweater girl’. She was undoubtedly highly sexual but private. She never married but certainly had her lovers. She kept herself healthy and fit, and was an excellent business woman compiling enough of a nest egg to will her niece around 20 million upon her death in 1990.
MOTHER TERESA
The world knows her as the great and caring mother of the lowest of the low. Her life was dedicated to serving through the Missionaries of Charity. Born a true Virgo on August 26, 1910, she was ready to commit herself to a religious life by the time she was 12, and truly did join the Sisters of Loreto as a missionary by the time she was 18 years.
She epitomized the desire to serve that is the true spiritual calling of every Virgo. Her way of serving was absolute in its focused devotion. At the age of 28 she began her lifework with the poor in India. This chosen path kept her caring for “the hungry, the naked, the homeless, the crippled, the blind, the lepers, and all those people who feel unwanted, unloved, uncared for throughout society, people that have become a burden to the society and are shunned by everyone.” This caringness grew into an organization of 4,000 nuns ‘running orphanages, AIDS hospices, and charity centers worldwide, and caring for refugees, the blind, disabled, aged, alcoholics, the poor and homeless, and victims of floods, epidemics, and famine.’ (Wikipedia)
In 1979 Mother Teresa was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize. In true Virgoan modesty she refused the conventional ceremonial banquet normally given to laureates. Rather she asked that the $192,000 funds be allocated to the poor in India.
It is telling, however, to read of her own doubts and self-loathing, which are so characteristic of Virgos penchant to question and self analyze. “Where is my faith? Even deep down…there is nothing but emptiness and darkness…If there be God—please forgive me. When I try to raise my thoughts to Heaven, there is such convicting emptiness that those very thoughts return like sharp knives and hurt my very soul…How painful is this unknown pain…I have no Faith. Repulsed, empty, no faith, no love, no zeal…What do I labor for? If there be no God, there can be no soul. If there be no soul then, Jesus, You also are not true.”
Wow! Can there be any doubt that she herself had to face the Virgoan Shadow? No critic of her life and work could have been harsher in their indictment than she was of herself. Perhaps the lives she actually touched, those poverty-ridden and nameless souls living at the very lowest of the low are the only ones worthy of judging her life.
REACHING WHOLENESS THROUGH PISCES POLARITY
By measuring themselves and others against a yardstick of perfection so unattainable, the Virgo often suffers the extreme ‘anguish of the dark night of the Soul’. By incorporating their opposite polarity, Pisces, more fully into their lives Virgo can begin to see that perhaps God is also evolving and thus take a more kindly, and gentle attitude towards themselves and others. Their great wisdom, gleaned from devotion to their chosen path, is then merged with compassion. The Sermon on the Mount (Matthew 5:3-12) was given to perhaps encourage just such souls to realize that they are truly blessed and will inherit both the earth and the ‘kingdom of heaven’ by accepting themselves and others just as they are, and simply doing the work of refining one step at a time.

Hi,
Firstly I have to confirm that you are very accurate about the Virgo woman being highly sexual and sensual. tee! hee! Now that is out the way I would sincerely like to thank you for your insightful writing. You have given me a better understanding of my nature. I will not be so hard on myself in the future…or atleast I am willing to try. I am a Virgo (as if you had not figured that out already) 24 August.
My current problem is my Piscean (28 February) boyfriend of three years. He gets a bit puzzling for me sometimes. I do not know whether you give relationship compatibility advice or how you work but I would really appreciate your opinion on the Virgo female – Pisces male combination. The physical attraction is quite something but theres just times when I find myself entertaining the thoughts of shooting him and hiding him in the garage (only joking by the way) only problem is he would be missing in action at that time so mission impossible.
Anyway if the whole relationship thing isnt your cup of tea that is quite alright it would be quite interesting to hear what your thoughts are on this combination.
Thank you and keep writing.
From: Your new website fan
Dear Anonymous,
You have sparked my enthusiasm to write about relationships. And, yes, I love to advise people on their relationship issues. That is a large part of my private practice. Virgos and Pisces are opposite signs and thus can get polarized. You are energetically at opposite ends of a continuum between Earth and Water. Virgo is the Earth container, while Pisces keeps things moving and prevents boredom and ‘dryness’. You certainly can be compatible is you allow for the knowledge of your differences in energetic style. I will certainly address these combinations more in future articles. Good luck and keep that great sense of humor!
Hi,
I have read both your excellent articles on Pisces and Virgo and I am also interested in the relationship aspect of the Pisces female and the Virgo male (like the anonymous writer above, except roles reveresed, lol). Iam (obviously) the Piscean but, thought I would leave my comment here because I just could not leave without letting you know how much I appreciate your work.
As I was reading her posting (above), I couldn’t help but to repeatedly say over and over that I myself could have written those exact same words! Amazing!
You are dead on about all the signs, Genevieve and again, thank you very much for your insight and please keep up the great work.
Good Luck and I cannot wait to see the polarized relationship work you come out with!
Giod Bless,
Lori
Your is beautiful , informative and fun, I find VIRGO especially compelling as I am one.
I would like to include it on my Joan Crawford blog concerning , ARIES.
All my best,
Toby
Virgo here… where did you get that great symbol.. the corn-ear and grape harvest… I like it and want to make a version of that and get it tattooed … I love all your meanings and most are so right on.
My son, Benjamin Vierling, did that symbol, as he does most of the art for this blog. They are copyrighted, but I will ask him. Thanks for your comments and asking!
JEN–
Benjamin says it’s fine to use his images as tatoos. That goes for anyone else out there who wants to use his designs for personal use.
hi i was woundering like some previous people what you think about two earth signs together my boyfriend is taurus and i am virgo thanks
You certainly could create a good earth-centered business together! And—yes—-you are considered harmonious as two Earth signs who can move forward in life with a marked degree of compatibility. You ‘re-fuel’ each other nicely. I will be writing more about relationships in the future.
I am a virgo…
You are so dead on about a virgo. I have so many of the traits that you wrote about. I find peace and solitude in the confides of my home. The craziness of the outside world at times drains me. I love to be alone to collect my thoughts. And my sex drive is over the top. My last boyfriend told me that he wasn’t going to kill himself trying to keep up with me in the bedroom. And I hate it when everyone tells me that they just don’t understand me. They say that I’m constantly changing. That there’s always something new about me every day. Go Virgo!!
Hi there I really enjoyed reading this virgo information. I don’t know much (yet anyway) but I would like to ask another question about virgo-pisces relationship. I am a virgo and my one and only child (male) is a pisces (only because he was born about three weeks earlier than his due date). His dad by the way, my ex husband is a saggitarius. I love my son very much and yes he has more energy and is more socialable than I could ever be which I find a bit exhausting. My critical nature comes out a bit more than it should when he runs up to strangers with no fear/hesitation to talk to them etc and always wanting to connect with hundreds of people around him. What is going on? How can I be the best mother I can be to him – note I did not use the word ‘perfect’ as I know there is no such thing – but that is ok, it makes things more colourful and interesting. With best wishes, Cal
Cal—
It’s good that you set boundaries, especially for safety reasons, with you Pisces son. He may have some Aquarian in him, as well, and is simply friendly and curious of others. With kindness you can gradually explain to him that some people are ‘safe’ and others may not have his best interests at heart. A bit of reserve is healthy and good until you know who you are dealing with. He obviously wants to connect on a more Universal level and may well do something with this energy as he matures. Encourage his gifts of handling large groups of people by encouraging him to speak, perform, be creative, etc. Encourage him when in school to work with groups. Your Virgo realism can be a safety net and guide for him until he is old enough to judge character for himself.
Dear Genevieve
Thank you so much. You are very kind. I will truly hold on to your message.
With very best wishes and gratitude
Cal
Hi
I have really enjoyed reading your work and have learned some fascinating information so thank you. would you hold out hope for a virgo/virgo – 26th august female 1965/5th september male 1962?
Virgo Joe—-
I see you both have powerful Virgo energies. It’s good that your Mars energies are compatible in Water signs. Make love, not war! Your Moon is in Scorpio while her Moon is in Virgo. That is also compatible in terms of style of response and getting your needs met. Compatibility study (called Synastry in Astrology) is quite complex with a lot of analysis on the part of the astrologer, but it looks like you should ‘hold out hope’. My best to you both!
I liked your article very much. While i am not a virgo i have a virgo rising and can relate to the overanalyzing and critical nature it comes with. Sometimes it can be a real pain lol. I also appreciate the way you described virgos because most sites list virgo as cold, persnickety, smarty pants, critical, fussy but hardly any good traits such as helpful, tactful, sensitive, charming. They make the sign seem so dull and had me for a while wishing i had a more outgoing ascendant lol. By the way if you have any pointers on how virgos can stop being so critical it would be a real help 🙂
Dear Ali,
Your comments are great. Thank you! I value the critques of Virgo people, especially the Virgo Ascendants. I guess the key is whether or not the criticisms are constructive. You folk truly see through the miasms and chaos of Pisces! We need you level-headed people.
Haha its funny you mentioned pisces because while i have nothing against the sign i find a majority to be very quiet and kind of ….. hard to know i guess. I actually meet and get along with a lot of aquarians lol this is one of the reasons why i was in disbelief when i found out i had virgo ascendant and thought it was a mistake until i checked my birth chart and found i was indeed 15 degrees virgo ascendant
Even though Virgo is Earth, and Aquarius is Air, they have much in common in that they like to be more objective about things and don’t get too overly emotional either. I actually see couples with that combination and it can work out quite nicely.
What abt virgo-virgo combination?
There is no one general answer for duplicate signs getting together; Virgo is no exception to this rule. I’ve seen a lot of very successful unions where both people are of the same sun sign. That being said, there is also the possibility of ‘canceling each other out’ or neutralizing each other. I remember well one of my best friends from High School, who is a Virgo, married her college sweetheart, a Virgo. Their marriage seemed to prosper for many years, but something happened along the way that still is a mystery. One day he simply walked out and never came back. That was it. She was left without a clue seemingly. Obviously this can lead to all sorts of speculation, but I’d say that they already had a communications problem. Virgo is, after all, ruled by Mercury. A Mercurial union necessitates excellent ability to voice one’s feelings openly.
Virgos Are :-
1.) PURE
2.) SERVING
3.) INTELLIGENT
Mythical creature associated with Virgo : UNICORN
Symbol : ANGEL
Hi. Beautiful article and great points on virgo!
I use to think virgos are such a fuss and an enigma…who wouldnt ever date or marry them?!
Well slap myself… I am now dating one.
I am a leo july 30; her virgo sept 13.
I expected total chaos but so far she has converted me into a tamed lion.
When i am with her i leave my pride at the doorstep.
She makes me feel calm and makes me pace myself in our relationship.
Leos usually want praise and so far i dont mind she doesnt as she shows her affection with little gestures.
I usually date water signs as they are very sensual but virgos are even sexier and so devoted.
I am wondering if we are a great match?
Well Maverick, you’ve brought to the table a wonderful point of view regarding some of the secrets that Virgos keep to themselves due to their willingness to be humble. Yes, they can be very erotic! I’d say you’re a great match from your description. Again, side by side signs often have over-lapping planets in each other’s signs. Perhaps she does have some planets in Leo, like her Venus or Mercury. Do you have any planets in Virgo? Those energies would really connect with her. Also, it appears that you have a sense of humor, and Virgos often do too. So enjoy what appears to be a relationship ‘made in heaven’. 🙂
Thx Genevieve,
I know if i refer to chinese zodiacs we are actually opposites.
Seems….our western signs are each other’s asian sign.
She is a dragon which equals my leo.
My ox seems to equate to her virgo.
I am not very familiar with planets rising, cusps etc etc. …am wondering how do i find out more?
Thanks very much for your info here.
I keep reading more about virgos because i definitely want to do everything right for my lady!
Hi Maverick,
Wondering if you have a prominent Chiron (also ‘The Maverick’)? I have many CDs for sale on all the topics you ask about. That’s one way to learn. 🙂 Otherwise, there are many books available.
Chiron? Mm i am going to have to read up on that. I really am clueless about these things.
Yes, I work always with Chiron in my client’s charts. Chiron is considered a planetoid that orbits between Saturn and Uranus; some think it is a comet that somehow got logged there during the paleonthenic (sp?) age. In astrology it has various meanings, one of which is ‘the maverick’. 🙂 See what this Virgo lady is doing for you? You’ll be learning all sorts of things…..

‘Virgo Perfecto’ no kidding. Get this-
I was randomly searching the web of which evolved into something really interesting.
It’s winter Olympics this year and I am looking at the various signs of medalists – Yuna Kim: world class figure skater; Sean White; the person who actually beat Sean White to gold in Sochi, Jamie Anderson, danny kass: torino silver medalist; ted ligeti, bode miller, johnny mosley, the late sarah burke who dominated x-games free style skiing… ALL VIRGOS!
I then research it further and found a corresponding graph of zodiac sign to Olympic medals- and guess what? It spikes at Virgo!
Genevieve, this is probably the most dominating pattern I have ever found amongst zodiac signs. What is going on here???
Thank You,
Paul
Paul-
You’ve done a great job of researching this. Thank you! Virgo is the sign which follows the creative Leo sign. Virgo has to get down to business and MASTER whatever the spark of creativity coming from Leo is about. So it makes sense that many medal winners are Virgos. They have to stick to a program and self-discipline themselves enough to perfect their skills. Virgo can be very work oriented. You know, we have an entire generation of people coming into their power now who were born with Uranus/Pluto in Virgo. Theses souls were born in the ’60s. It’s going to be interesting to see what they do as they move into increasing positions of leadership. Virgo is a PROBLEM SOLVING sign as well. This generation has to help fix the messes their preceding Pluto in Leo generation created, as well as the preceding Pluto in Cancer generation before that! So let’s toast Virgos of all colors and stripes!!
The website that I searched to confirm this matter was called The Pisces Effect. It is showing that the different signs dominate certain events. In this case, Virgo is a clear dominant of skiing and skiing-like events.

Great piece of writing on Virgo’s! Thank you!
I am also a Virgo (female, 21 september) . I have lived with Libra’s (my family) all my life!!
During the last 5 years I have been with my partner who is also a Libra (21 october).
He is an outspoken character and not someone who can be tamed, but that seems to be why I like him. I like the challenge and some one who can keep me on my toes….. although the intensity levels can be draining at times. What is your prediction of the compatibility?
It was interesting to see the statement
“They don’t seem as keen to be ‘the wife’.”
As this has been an issue for me.. I have been asked to marry twice but declined as I just don’t feel I am quite right for the role yet. I believe this links to the perfection side of me.
Claudia—
I can’t base a prediction on your compatibility without actually looking at both natal birth charts. Sun signs side-by-side such as yours with your Libran partner often work just fine because you may ‘share’ in energies such as Mercury or Venus. I look at side-by-side signs as two fingers on the same hand. Yes, you are different, but you are connected nonetheless.
Thanks for the nice article about virgo
I am a 9/7/virgo you described my trats well. How compatible is male cancer and female virgo. Thanks
Thanks Marie,
The signs Cancer and Virgo are compatible archetypally because water and earth go together well. Earth acts as the ‘container’ for water. Cancer men are learning to nurture and like to be nurtured. Virgo women are learning to use their intelligence to serve in numerous ways. Energetically you both would stimulate each other. It’s also important to look at your Moon signs, Mercury signs, Venus/Mars, and even Ascendants to make a more complete judgement on compatibility. Your Solar energies, however, are fine together!
I went on a trip to the beach one Sat with my friend and his wife; we started our trip later than scheduled which was a large annoyance to her. It was she who drove that morning, after touching her lucky frog pin in ritual fashion, she spent the ENTIRE 2 hours complaining that we should’ve left earlier and that it was pointless to still be going; I was amazed at my decan III Aries friend and his ceaseless patience. When we came back, I offered to do her natal chart and found she was a VIRGO sun w VIRGO rising! That was the most crippling demonstration of OCD I ever witnessed and she, at this one experience, furthered my acceptance of the influence of the Zodiac. Perfectionist and self-flagellation personified; your commentary on Virgo: vindicated.
Hi Paul,
What a great commentary from a ‘real life’ experience. 🙂 Virgo’s can certainly also be compulsive in their daily rituals. Sounds like she wants more watery/froggy energy. Virgo is always seeking Pisces as a balancing polarity!
To add to that: I am a pisces and it seems we get along very well for some reason.
🙂 Pisces and Virgos can be quite complementary.
BTW, notice all the sexpot females associated with Virgo: Raquel Welch, Jacqueline Bisset, Lauren Bacall, Virginia Madsen, Rebecca De Mornay, Sophia Loren… What I’m conveying is that a lot of actresses play the role of the seductress; however these women are the Hall of Famers when it comes to the smoldering, sexual female lead.
Paul—-
I’ve always observed how sexual so many of my female Virgo clients are. Remember, it is an earthy sign. It evokes the ‘Sacred Prostitute’ archetype quite well, meaning ‘she who is whole in herself.’
Hi there! I was born 25th August 1982 but I was due on 11th August and have Aquarius rising. I seem to have a lot of Leo traits though. Im a bit concerned that I don’t get on with Pisces people. Two of my sisters are Pisces and they both irritate the hell out of me
Dear Jade, Without knowing your exact time of birth I can still see that the sign Pisces may well fall in your 1st house, so their energies have an immediate impact on you which, as you say, irritates your Virgoan sensibility for exactness and practicality quite possibly. Yes, you do have Venus in Leo, but also a lot of Scorpio planets including your Moon. Close relationships are very important for you in this life with loyalty being almost a necessity. Also, it might be wise to look at control issues with others. Slippery Pisces may squirm about and elude what you value as directness and upfront behavior. In the big picture, it’s OK not to like all their behavior even if you love your sisters.
This is by far the most depthful analysis I have read of horoscopes, almost poetic in there nature specially the words of the illustrator are acting like visual stems.
I have a piscean love interest and she’s in a relationship with another piscean who comes and goes out as he wishes and she comes to cry only to me when he hurts her. I have told her that I love her but she says she don’t need my love she needs me. I finally left her after her repeated denial of letting me go and told her to contact me when she get some sense of pride in her existence. I’m confused.
I just watched that movie ‘The Holiday’ which addresses exactly your dilemma. You’ve done the right thing Virgo!
I have zero virgo in my chart, no house or a planet placement will you find with that energy.
My Uranus is in the 6th; I can’t keep a steady or conventional job to save my hide; 9-5 jobs I want to avoid like the plague.
getting a bit ‘long in the tooth’, relatively speaking, and really no career developed to call my own at this time.
too much Pisces(trip conjunction) influence I would wager- Virgo’s opposite; there’s too much dreaming and talkin’, but not enough ‘doing’.
If the commentary seems as to presume whine or self-pity, it’s not.
I am attempting to demonstrate on an empirical level as to the LACK of Virgo rather than what would be the conventional response of a direct Influence of said-sign.
*ADD: I do not yet know how to completely read a chart let alone mine. I am picking the obvious indicators and could be totally off in analysis, though I believe I am dead-on …
Thanks for your comments P, Uranus in the 6th definitely has a difficult time with 9-5 type jobs. What sign in on your 6th cusp and 10th cusp? Looking for the rulers of those houses may give further clue as to right livelihood. Uranus in the 6th, of course, can show an aptitude for astrology. 🙂 Don’t give up. Practice pays off. Also look to progressions for adding in the Virgo element in your nature, which includes the Progressed Moon. During that 2.5 year period you can learn Virgo traits and skills.
Hi thanks 4 the great artical how compatable r virgo 28.8 an cap 4.1
Jennifer—-both signs are EARTH, so that link is considered compatible. With Virgo near the end of its sign we almost have a Libran influence which also means BY DEGREE the two Sun signs are in a square aspect. This means some dynamic tension perhaps.
Can you explain what u mean by dynamic tension please
When two or more planets are in a square (90+ degree) aspect from each other they create a very active/dynamic/confrontative energy which can sometimes create a feeling of tension or even struggle as both attempt to express their energy. This could feel like friction or excitement depending on other factors in the relationship. Hope this helps Jennifer!
Hi I received ur answ on cap\virgo combonation u said perhaps a dynamic tension can u go into detail pls mine moon gemini sun cap mercury cap venus sag his moon an sun virgo mercury leo venus libra
Hi Jen, I see I already DID answer that question beginning ‘When two or more planets are in a square….’. So review that again. Dynamic = ACTIVE; Tension = possible friction. But probably what you feel is your Moon in Gemini vs his Moon/Sun in Virgo. You have very different needs and need to adapt to each other’s. Moon in Gemini needs to talk things through, and needs to circulate with a lot of freedom. He may or may not need those. Perhaps he is much more self-contained with all that Virgo/Leo. But his Venus in Libra likes/values a woman who is intelligent, communicates, and has gracefulness I would think.
divine feminine pisces mermaid here… iv not heard more about vthe uniting of opposites unless i look in ancient Kaballah or the works of Heraclitus the must be polar opposites and come into unity awakening the kundalini in the sacred sexual act of making love thus creating stargates and en energy un-matched that will help with planetary liberation. I know my twin is a virgo his bday is sept 19 mine is march 12. we’ve not met but I can feel and know this inner knowing of absolute truth that, i can feel what he feels & have had visions and knowing of long ago i was to be a teacher of the mysteries of mother and father god as he as well even said he wanted to be a priest when he was younger… i feel/know we are to minister together to the nations after unity as that is too part of our mission. The symbol you have there has the ** VISICA PISCES in it which as well symbolizes the unity of opposites via mercurius* trying to do more research on that figure *Mercurius … can’t seem to find much. I can feel him more and more, stronger and stronger, especially this month something has changed as major as a planetary shift of energies not yet known on this planet are now here.. he is in the public eye – an oraphim angel trapped under contract … i will go to help here soon after i get my degree, bc as of now i am stuck. the oraphim are the 144,000 spoken of in revelation (elect) and i know he is of that number and feel i am too. anyway, this is love, unconditionally. thank you pls email back to me the replies. LOVE & Light 777 >< 444
Dear m7xBlueDragon, September 19th, called ‘The Day of Fine Appearance’ was Brian Epstein’s birthdate as well as Jeremy Irons, that great and prolific actor. It correlates with the Sun card in the tarot as well as Mercury/Mercurius—-natural ruler of Virgo. I see your birthdate, March 12th, is ‘The Day of the Great Leap’, Nijinsky’s birth day and Ataturk—-quite a range between those two!! Your card in the tarot is The Hanged Man; so yes—you appear to be a visionary. I wish you well on your journey!
I”m quite familiar with the 144,000. A certain sect in the 1840s felt they were of that number; I was raised in that belief system. I prefer to see it as symbolic rather than literal having experienced the shadow side of literalism.
Mercurius is the psychopomp most definitely. You may want to check out ‘Three Hands Press’ for more esoteric writings on all of this.
